Define the cutting result
Begin with the vegetation and the finish you expect. Is the job regular grass maintenance, occasional cutting of overgrown areas or another clearly defined task? Send recent photographs and describe the approximate height and density of the growth. Avoid relying on the word grass when the area also contains other vegetation.
Flail and rotary cutting systems use different arrangements. A flail head typically carries multiple pivoting cutting tools on a rotating shaft, while rotary decks use blades rotating around vertical axes. Actual performance depends on the complete design, not the name alone.
Request evidence for your application
Ask which vegetation types the exact mower is designed to handle. Request the cutting-height range, recommended operating conditions and information about the cutting tools fitted as standard. If the supplier provides demonstration footage, check whether it shows the same model and comparable vegetation.
Ask what finish the machine produces and whether another pass may be needed under the demonstrated conditions. A maintenance cut and a presentation-quality lawn finish are different purchasing requirements. State your priority before comparing offers.
Include maintenance in the comparison
Request part numbers and replacement procedures for the cutting tools, together with information about guards and other wear components. Confirm whether tools must be replaced in matched sets or under other model-specific rules.
Neither cutting system makes hidden debris harmless. Site inspection and the manufacturer’s instructions remain necessary. AC Machinery can discuss available cutting configurations, but compatibility and vegetation capability should be confirmed for the particular machine in your quotation.
